Cleft lip and palate occurs in approximately one in 700-1000 live births. Every year, several dozens of babies are born with this deformity. With a proper management program, patients with cleft lip and palate can grow up normally, eating, drinking, speaking like everyone else. Treatment in the form of surgery, orthodontics and preventive dentistry is needed at various stages of growth.
