• Corrective Jaw Surgery – The costs of corrective jaw surgery, also called orthognathic surgery, vary widely according to the type and complexity of procedures, with average costs ranging between $4,000 and $24,000 for surgeons’ fees and $15,000 to $20,000 for hospital charges.

Financing the surgery with Medisave and Integrated Shield Plans:

Medisave is a national mandatory medical savings account. The use of Medisave funds for surgery is subject to a withdrawal limit that is assigned to a specific procedure. For corrective jaw surgery, the range is between $5000 and $7000. For dental implant surgery, the limit is $950 per implant and removal of impacted wisdom teeth is subjected to a $950 limit per tooth. 

For corrective jaw surgery, Integrated Shield Plans can be used. Depending on the specifics of your shield plan, you may be able to claim insurance for 60% to 100% of your bill. For dental implant surgery, only those done to replaced a tooth lost due to an accident can be claimed.
